SE-ARN-80 Ionising Ring

8 kV AC wide-area static elimination for complex 3D parts — ionising ring only or complete rotating air nozzle system

Product Description

The FÖGE SE-ARN-80 is a high-power 8 kV AC ionising ring designed to neutralise static electricity across the full circumference of complex, three-dimensional parts such as plastic moulded components, automotive lenses, headlight covers and machined surfaces. Unlike flat ionisation bars that treat one surface at a time, the ring design surrounds the part — delivering ionisation from all sides simultaneously, including edges, curves and undercuts. It is designed primarily for robotic arm mounting, fixed automated cleaning stations and conveyor integration where parts pass through or rotate within the ionisation field. The SE-ARN-80 is available in two variants. The AC01 is an ionising ring only — it provides the ionisation function without any air system, allowing machine builders and OEM integrators to combine it with their own nozzle, rotary air blower or cleaning mechanism. The PA is a complete, ready-to-use system that integrates the ionising ring with a pulsed air rotating nozzle, providing both ionisation and physical dust removal in a single self-contained unit. Both variants operate at 8 kV AC, use tungsten ionising pins and are powered by the SE-PAC-80 power unit series.

How It Works

The SE-ARN-80 is connected via its HV cable to an SE-PAC-80 AC power unit, which supplies 8 kV to the tungsten ionising pins arranged in a ring around the unit. The ring geometry creates an ionisation field that extends inward across the full interior of the ring — so any part positioned within or passed through the ring is ionised from all sides simultaneously. In the AC01 variant, this ionisation-only function is delivered without any airflow; the customer's own air or rotary system handles the physical particle removal. In the PA variant, pulsed compressed air at 4–8 bar drives a high-speed rotating nozzle that distributes ionised airflow across the part, detaching and carrying away dust and static-bound particles in a single automated cleaning cycle. The shockless circuit design keeps pin current within safe limits at all times.

Advantages & Benefits

01

Ionises around the full part circumference

A flat bar ionises one face. The SE-ARN-80 ring surrounds the part — neutralising static on all sides simultaneously, including edges, curves and recesses that bars cannot reach.

02

Two configurations for two types of customer

Machine builders with existing air systems choose the AC01 ring — they get the ionisation component without the air system they already have. Customers who need a complete solution choose the PA and get everything in one unit.

03

8 kV output handles heavily charged materials

Higher voltage ionisation is needed for parts with intense static charges. At 8 kV, the SE-ARN-80 neutralises charges that standard 5.5 kV units cannot fully address.

04

PA variant: cleans complex 3D shapes in one pass

The rotating nozzle of the PA variant sweeps ionised air across the full part surface and into recesses, reducing cleaning cycle time versus manual or fixed-nozzle approaches.

05

Ideal for robotic integration

The ring form factor is designed to be mounted on robotic end-of-arm tools — parts pass through the ring or the robot positions the ring around them during the cleaning cycle.

06

Prevents defects before painting and coating

Eliminating static and dust before painting, coating, glazing or inspection removes the source of inclusion defects, adhesion failures and inspection false positives.

07

Long service life reduces total cost of ownership

Tungsten ionising pins last significantly longer than standard steel pins, reducing replacement frequency and maintenance downtime across continuous production cycles.

Frequently Asked Questions

The AC01 is an ionising ring with no air system — it neutralises static charges around the part but does not physically remove dust particles. It is designed for machine builders and OEM integrators who already have their own rotary nozzle, air blow-off or cleaning mechanism and want to add ionisation to it. The PA is a complete, ready-to-use unit that integrates the ionising ring with a pulsed air rotating nozzle — one unit provides both static neutralisation and dust removal.
The SE-ARN-80 is designed for parts with more demanding static charge levels — typically heavy plastic moulded parts, automotive components and machined materials where charges are high and the ionisation distance to the part surface is greater. 8 kV delivers the ion density needed to neutralise these charges effectively across the ring's working distance.
The SE-ARN-80 requires an SE-PAC-80 power unit — available as SE-PAC-80-2-C (2 outputs) and SE-PAC-80-4-C (4 outputs). This is different from other FÖGE products that use SE-PAC-55. Up to 4 units per power supply. Ordered separately.
Yes. Multiple SE-ARN-80 heads can be connected to a single SE-PAC-80-4-C power unit and synchronised for cleaning large or complex parts with multiple zones simultaneously.
Three options: C3 (3 m standard), C5 (5 m) and C12 (12 m). The 12 m cable is useful when the SE-PAC-80 power unit is located at a distance from the installation point.
