SE-ACN Nozzle AC Antistatic Bar

Simultaneous static elimination and high-velocity air blast — dust removal, surface cleaning, sheet separation and mould release in one bar

Product Description

The FÖGE SE-ACN is a nozzle AC antistatic bar that combines high-voltage AC ionisation with high-velocity compressed air jets from a row of nozzles along the bar body. Where a standard antistatic bar eliminates static charge alone, the SE-ACN does two things simultaneously: it neutralises the electrostatic charge on the target surface, and delivers a powerful focused air blast that physically removes the dust, particles and contamination that the static was holding in place — or that provides the mechanical force needed to separate parts that are stuck together. This dual action — ionise and clean, or ionise and separate — makes the SE-ACN effective in applications where simply neutralising the charge is not enough and a physical effect is also required. The SE-ACN is available in two voltage variants. The SE-ACN-55 operates at 5.5 kV and requires an SE-PAC-55 AC power unit — suited to standard static levels and typical working distances. The SE-ACN-80 operates at 8 kV and requires an SE-PAC-80 power unit — the preferred choice for heavily charged materials, larger working distances or where higher ionisation intensity is needed alongside the air blast. Both variants use the same shockless AC technology, stainless steel emitter pins, washable housing and plug-and-play HV connector as the rest of the SE-AC product family. Compressed air is required at the installation point to achieve the full cleaning and separation function.

How It Works

The SE-ACN connects to an SE-PAC AC high-voltage power unit (SE-PAC-55 for the SE-ACN-55; SE-PAC-80 for the SE-ACN-80) via a plug-and-play HV connector. The AC high voltage applied to the stainless steel emitter pins ionises the surrounding air, generating a balanced cloud of positive and negative ions — identical to any other SE-AC bar. A compressed air supply connected to the bar's air inlet feeds high-pressure air through the internal manifold and out through a row of focused nozzles positioned along the bar body. These nozzles direct concentrated air jets toward the target surface at the angles and velocities needed for effective cleaning or separation. The ionised air and the direct air jets combine at the target: ions neutralise the surface charge, and the air blast physically dislodges contaminants or provides the separation force. The alternating AC polarity ensures balanced ion output — both positive and negative charges on the target surface are neutralised simultaneously. The shockless circuit design keeps pin current at a safe level for operators.

The Two Functions of the SE-ACN

The SE-ACN is a dual-action device. Both functions happen simultaneously — the ionisation neutralises the static, and the air jet provides the physical effect. Choose the function that matches your application:

01

Function A — Ionise + Clean (Dust Removal & Surface Cleaning)

The static charge on a surface attracts and holds dust, fibres, paper particles and other airborne contaminants. The SE-ACN first neutralises the charge — releasing the contamination from the surface — then immediately blasts it away with high-velocity air from the nozzles. The result is a clean, static-free surface ready for printing, coating, laminating or inspection. Used before printing presses, coating lines, laminating units, inspection stations and any process where surface cleanliness is critical.

02

Function B — Ionise + Separate (Part Separation & Mould Release)

Static electricity causes plastic parts to stick to injection moulds during ejection, and causes sheets to cling together in printing press feeders, sheet-fed machines and packaging lines. The SE-ACN neutralises the static holding the parts or sheets together, and simultaneously delivers the air blast that provides the mechanical separation force — ejecting the part from the mould cleanly or lifting the top sheet cleanly from the stack. Used at injection mould exits, sheet feeder inlets, press feeders and anywhere parts or sheets must be reliably separated.

Choosing the Right Model

Two decisions determine the correct SE-ACN: (1) voltage variant, and (2) whether the SE-ACN (AC) or SE-DCN (Pulsed DC) better fits your installation.
Step 1 — SE-ACN-55 or SE-ACN-80?
Comparison SE-ACN-55 (5,5 kV) SE-ACN-80 (8 kV)
Ionisation Voltage 5.5 kV 8 kV
Required Power Unit SE-PSU-24-C-M12 power supply M12 5-pin cable
Range Up to 600 mm Up to 600 mm
Ion Density Standard Higher — better for heavily charged materials
Choose when Standard static levels, typical working distances, cost-effective installation Highly charged materials, larger distances, or
maximum ionization intensity required
Step 2 — SE-ACN (AC) or SE-DCN (Pulsed DC)?
Comparison SE-ACN (this product) SE-DCN
Technology AC — requires SE-PAC HV power unit Pulsed DC — 24 V DC supply, no HV unit

— simpler 24-V DC installation preferred

Applications

Applications Where it helps
Printing Press & Sheet Feeder — Sheet Separation Separate sheets in the printing press feeder. Static electricity causes sheets to stick together and feed in as
double sheets — jams and printing errors. The SE-ACN neutralizes the static electricity and blows the top
sheet free.
Injection Moulding — Mould Release Neutralizes freshly molded plastic parts during ejection and supports ejection and mold cleaning with a blast of air.
Reduces sticking and improves cycle times.
Pre-Print Surface Cleaning Remove dust, fibers, and particles from paper, film, cardboard, and plastic substrates immediately in front of the
print head or coating unit.
Pre-Coating & Pre-Laminating Cleaning Clean substrates before applying adhesive coatings, paint, or laminates. Statically charged contamination
causes adhesion failures.
Thermoformed Part Separation Separate thermoformed trays, blister packs, and packaging components that stick together due to static electricity
when stacked.
Electronic Component & PCB Cleaning Remove particle contamination from printed circuit boards, electronic assemblies, and optical components without
posing a risk of contact cleaning.
Film & Foil Unwinding Clean and neutralise plastic film, foil and paper webs at the unwind station before processing
— removing both the static charge and the surface particles that accumulate during winding and storage.

Frequently Asked Questions

Both are nozzle AC antistatic bars with the same air-blast cleaning and separation functions. The SE-ACN-55 operates at 5.5 kV and requires an SE-PAC-55 power unit — suited to standard applications. The SE-ACN-80 operates at 8 kV and requires an SE-PAC-80 power unit, delivering higher ionisation intensity for heavily charged materials, larger working distances or situations where the air blast alone is insufficient without strong simultaneous ionisation.
No. The SE-ACN-55 must be used with the SE-PAC-55 (5.5 kV). The SE-ACN-80 must be used with the SE-PAC-80 (8 kV). Mixing voltages will result in incorrect ionisation performance or equipment damage.
Both deliver the same dual function (ionise + air blast) and cover the same application types. The SE-ACN uses AC technology and requires a mains-powered SE-PAC HV power unit. The SE-DCN uses pulsed DC technology from a 24 V DC supply — no HV power unit is needed. Choose SE-ACN if AC infrastructure is already in place; choose SE-DCN for a simpler 24 V DC installation or where no HV power unit is available.
No — the air actually enhances the effective range and delivery of ions by carrying them toward the target surface at velocity. The combined ionised air stream and direct nozzle air jets work together: ions neutralise the charge, and the air provides the physical cleaning or separation force.
Yes — this is one of the primary applications. At the sheet feeder inlet, static causes sheets to cling together and feed as doubles. The SE-ACN positioned above the top of the stack neutralises the static between sheets while simultaneously blasting the top sheet free, enabling reliable single-sheet feeding at high throughput speeds.
